I was talking to a man who goes to my church who works with a conductor at Walmart in Rockwood, TN that says that R.J. Corman has bought the trackage from Oneida to Devonia known as the Tennessee Railway now (well formally at this point) the New River Railroad with the excursions and such. I was wondering if this was true?

Ah, oh well. After talking to this man more, the conductor told him that they are trying get something started on the old TC (Tennessee Central) from Harriman to Crab Orchard.

There's a big trestle there near Westel Road between Rockwood and Crab Orchard.  I never heard what was going on with it several months ago but they were doing a lot of work to it.  I drove past there 3 out of 4 weekends in a row and there were men there and work trucks every time.   For a while it seemed the Franklin Industries train was "stuck" east of that trestle while they were working on it -- it was there at least two weeks.   I can't remember if that trestle is east or west of the tunnel but there's a ~700 bore in that same basic area.

I'm not around there enough to catch one of the Franklin trains running with their good looking B23-7's.  Would make for a good picture.   Would be nice to see more trains running through that area but those are some steep grades.   I'd like the chance to catch more trains on the TC bridge there over the Emory river too.  Only caught the NS train 890 one time.

Found the pic I snapped of the tunnel as I was wandering around in that area the first time.   All I had seen was the "H" line on the NS track charts for the CNO&TP.   I followed the CNO&TP and this other line down to Cardiff where they diverge and the old TC line heads toward Crab Orchard.   Found the tunnel totally by accident.

As far as I know, this is the only tunnel on the TC.  If you look, you can see the "T C" above the tunnel opening.  I need to just walk up there one day and get a better pic.
