It was a real treat to see the Veterans unit this morning, the 2nd of 3 units on a mixed freight sitting on a siding in town (the west side of Muncie, IN).

It was better when the lead locomotive on the train was removed this afternoon, allowing for a much improved set of pics of NS #6920.

Great looking power!

I am surprised it did not come off in Cinncy. That thing had died about a dozen times coming up the CNO&TP and had severely delayed the train....those rebuilds are not all they are cracked up to be.

The Vets unit also had issues while visiting the Buffalo area during the spring.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Well, the NS Veterans unit has now been idling on the Vernon siding in Muncie, IN for 3+ days.  A low rumble, plus routine air releases (since Thursday).

It must be a bit annoying, as houses line the siding not more than a 100' from the track on either side (as shown in these images).

Note: There are homes just on the other side of the greenery, on the north side of the tracks.  The fence is in a yard on the south side.

But it's still a fine-looking loco!

Nice pics! Sounds like NS is taking a page from CSX's new slogan... It will move tomorrow... how? Or something like that! LOL!
