Sunday Morning Action Austell Georgia August 3rd 2014

NS 22G (LONG BEACH, CA (UP KLBNS) - ATLANTA, GA) rolls east as the fog lifts on the mainline through Lithia Springs Georgia into Austell This train stopped on the #2 main just past the Austell X over as the rear 21 cars were for Whitaker Yard. All UP power on the head end of today's train


NS G90 Inman to Whitaker transfer rolls north on #1 main past the rear of 22G's train. Two repainted DS40-2 former Helm Leasing units NS3553 & 3555 lead this train


NS G88 Whitaker transfer light engines NS9439 & 9923 Dash 9-40's  roll south off the runaround to the #2 main and couple to the rear of 22G's train. G88 headed north with the entire train until the required cut could be made by the utility man. After the cut, red flags were applied to both ends and each headed to Whitaker and Inman yards


NS 23E (ATLANTA, GA - DALLAS, TX (KCS IATDA2)  west bound with BNSF7080 & UP7777
NS 335 (MACON, GA - SHEFFIELD, AL) north bound with NS6940, 9709 & 9615   
Amtrak #19 with ATKM166 & 202 west bound to the Alabama Division East End District

NS 295 (CHICAGO, IL (LANDERS) - JACKSONVILLE, FL (FEC) south bound with NS8710 & 9973


NS 24E (DALLAS, TX (KCS IDAMC) - ATLANTA, GA) with a pair of  SD70ACE's in Southern Belle paint


NS 51Q Albany Georgia north bound empty grain train with power NS9045, 9120 & 9803

Things were pretty slow for about 2 hours so I headed west to Douglasville.
