Over the course of this past weekend I spent sometime with some friends up around Columbus, Bellevue, and Marion, Ohio. During the course of Saturday and Sunday we spent quite a bit of time track side. On Saturday we focused our attention to Bellevue, Ohio and Bellevue Terminal. While at Bellevue, we caught something on the order of close to twenty five trains in the six and a half hours we were there.

Our first train to show up was 24M as it makes the turn toward Bellevue Yard off of the Fostoria District.

Next train to show up was 14T making the turn from the Toledo District to the Fostoria District with auto racks bound for the Mixing Center in Fostoria, Ohio. We'll see more of this train later on.

After 14T had got out of the way and around the curve. Northbound manifest 116 is seen heading into Bellevue Yard behind NS 9318.

Not ten minutes after 116 had made its way into the yard. Eastbound stack train 20R shows up behind two ex-CONRAIL wide cab GEs.

The next train to show up after 20R had made its way into the yard and left after changing crews. Another eastbound is seen coming into the yard. This time as manifest 14Q comes in behind ES40DC 7673.

The next train that passed by was the first train to leave the yard. This as NS 7522 leads westbound manifest 17K onto the Toledo District as it begins its run to Elkhart, Indiana.

After 17K had made its way west on the Toledo District. Eastbound manifest 184, or CN 385, is seen making its way off the Toledo District as it passes the railroad museum with two CN EMDs for power.

Now, you would think that with Bellevue being a major terminal for Norfolk Southern. We would be seeing a fair amount of empty coal trains coming in and out the yard. Well, we didn't see that many coal trains. In fact, we only saw one coal train the entire day. Empty train 745 is seen coming into Bellevue with an SD70M-2 leading.

Once 745 had cleared out of the way. Things really started to open up once more and the traffic started to really get moving. Here we have auto parts train 18N heading into the yard with automobile traffic for Doremus, NJ.

No sooner than 18N had came to a stop to enter the yard. Eastbound manifest 18M is seen leaving Bellevue behind SD70M-2 2730 as it heads for Columbus.

As mentioned before, a 14T was seen earlier in the day heading toward Fostoria, Ohio with empty auto racks for the Mixing Center. A few hours later, 14T is seen once again being led by BNSF CW44-9 #961 and SD60 #6666 with loaded racks bound for Buffalo, New York.

A few minutes after 14T had made its way into Bellevue Terminal for a crew change. Intermodal train I6N, extra 26N, is seen leaving Bellevue as it makes its way south behind UP ES44AC #7676. This train was heading for the intermodal facility at Rickenbacker Airport just south of Columbus, Ohio.

The next train to leave Bellevue was another train that frequents the ODR Territory. Here we see 194 leaving town with an all GE lashup bound for Columbus.

As 194 was making its way toward Columbus. We see Wheeling & Lake Erie train 91 make the turn onto W&LE trackage behind two SD40-2s. I've got to admit for it being my first time seeing the W&LE. That speed lettering looks nice on their locomotives.

About twenty minutes had went by after the Wheeling train was well away on their trackage. The train after that to show up was another manifest being brought into Bellevue from some location to the south or to the west. Here we see NS 9804 bringing said manifest into the yard.

The next train to show up after the previous manifest was another train that also frequents the western edge of the ODR Territory. Here we see train 188 with another solid EMD lash up, including an RP-E4 slug, being led by BNSF SD70MAC 9651 as it begins its journey to Linwood, NC.

The last train that I got on video while at Bellevue had the third solid EMD lash up of the day. This as train 303 makes its way onto the Fostoria District behind EMD GP38-2 5136 and SD40-2 6162.

The one train we caught on Sunday had another great lash up. Train 170, Chattanooga, TN - Conway, PA, is seen heading into Watkins Yard as it passes through Downtown Columbus with five ex-SOO LINE SD60s dead in tow.

The following photo was the last train that we caught on Saturday. Found these setting on CSX, I believe they were on the ex-C&O, in Marion, Ohio while returning to Columbus for the night.
