I had a nice adventure in the Finger Lakes region a little over a week ago with the Finger Lakes Railway and Norfolk Southern. FGLK local HW2 surprised me by running early- the train was headed northbound at Starkey shortly after 9 AM in the next two shots:

The morning included a visit to FGLK's engine house in Geneva- #2309 was jacked up to get some TLC from the shop crew.

Yard job GY1 was working in Geneva, with former CR #1943 (on home rails) for power:

The afternoon belonged to Norfolk Southern. After failing to get good shots of 12T heading westbound at Waverly and Wellsburg, I chased the train thru the Chemung River Valley to get some good shots at CP Gibson in Corning:

A couple of former Penn Central Geeps were idling in the yard at Gang Mills:

I was determined to get some good shots at Wellsburg, so I went back there and caught local H10 heading home late in the afternoon.

H12 followed thru the same crossing at Wellsburg about 30 minutes later:

I stayed overnight in nearby Sayre, PA to attend a presentation by the Susquehanna Chapter of the NRHS about the fallen flags of the Sayre/Waverly/Elmira area the following day. The weekend was a win.  8)

All in all some nice shots Matt! I think I might take that shot of 2309 on jacks and edit it. Delete the jack stands and edit in a giant human hand looking like it is picking it up. In model railroading we call it the "Hand of God". LOL! DE Dan

Thanks, Dan! I like your idea for the photoshopped pic. That would be funny and cool at the same time.  8)
