NS 2599, power for local T-19, waits out the weekend on the West leg of the wye at Lawrenceburg, KY as the sun sinks low, turning the sky that cool shade of Blue that will soon fade to Black.. 07/20/13

Great shot EM. Did you used the headlights of the Explorer to light this?

The only issue I had with this shot was the shadow on the bottom, created by the little hill I was standing on. I did not notice it until after I was already home...rookie mistake.

With this recent new-found popularity of night photography, it seems everyone is going for the new fangled strobes and all of that. They DO make for some dandy images, and are about the only way you can stop a moving a train at night. I guess I am still old school though, I prefer the challenge of doing it with ambient light or what ever else I can find that don't cost a ton of cash and take an hour to set up. There aint a thing wrong with dong it the modern way, but this is just what I like.

These young whipper-snappers got them Alien Bee's...all I got is domestic lightning bugs :)
