On my way home from Lexington today, I was about 5 minutes from home when I checked JREB and saw the NKP was in Burnside headed my way. Thankfully I had my camera with me, (with a memory card!) I started down at Palm as I waited for it. 264 and 117 passed by in the time that I waited.

Finally, after an hour of waiting, Nickel Plate came around the corner at Palm. I said it was a quick chase because after it passed me at Palm, it smoked me all the way to the yard. Then almost smoked me at Faulkner! The engineer wasn't messing around with this one!

My next stop was going to be Burgin. However, a couple of kids decided to play chicken with 264 a little bit earlier and every cop in the county was out looking for em'. Luckily, E.M texted me that and let me know just before I got to Faulkner. A quick detour down a little road to the crossing at Faulkner showed that the NKP was coming right for me. If I had gone to Burgin, I would've been smoked!

We left Kings Mountain and headed  for Danville.  Unfortunately 55A didn't need fuel so it was a quick stop for them and I heard them on the radio leaving Danville about two minutes before we got there.  We headed for Burgin but as luck would have it we got behind a Land Cruiser trying to pull a trailer that was too big for it.  He was going really slow and there was no getting around him.  By the time we got to Burgin about half of the 55A was already across the crossing and there was no catching up to it.  We didn't see the two kids they were looking for and all of the police had cleared out by that time.  We were running a little behind the whole afternoon chasing 55A due to staying in Burnside to see 56G with the Reading on it depart.

That first shot at Palm is absolutely killer in my book!   The biggest thing in the frame does NOT always have to be the train, and you pulled it off great!
