Athearn June 25 Announcements-NS SD40E and More..

Slightly overshadowed by the incoming Intermountain heritage ES44ACs, Athearn posted some interesting announcements yesterday.

First, the SD40E. They are starting with the earlier 'Es made from NS SD50s. These will have the HTC trucks.



Next are some Conrail SD50s. These are the first factory painted models to feature the smaller "high" Conrail Quality logo found on the NS 5424, and NS 5420 prior to its retirement. They are offering the normal and reversed CR-Q logos.





Last month, Athearn announced more Ex-CR NS SD40-2s, as well as snoot nose SD40-2 3460.

Those look nice. I wish they would consider us who model fallenflags and older era's.  >
