Good & Foreign Power on NS

Last week was a great week to railfan the NS between Decatur, IL and Saint Louis, MO. With the Hannibal District from KC to Decatur being closed for flooding we got plenty of detours that had some interesting power! Here are some shots and I am hoping you enjoy as it was a pleasent week.

1. CEFX Blue Bird # 1058 leads detoured 33J through Staunton, IL on 04-29-2013 heading for KC.
2. Brand new NS SD60E rebuild # 6943 leads the 20T intermodal train from KC-Harrisburg, PA through Litchfield, IL on 04-28-2013.
3. ICE # 6446 leads NS 32Q from the A&S to Decatur, IL with a burnt out engineers head light to be fixed at Decatur terminal. Train is seen passing through Mt. Olive, IL on 04-30-2013.
4. CEFX # 1047 leads NS train 301 passed CEFX 1058 on a detoured 398 from Kansas City at Staunton, IL on 05-01-2013.
5. Brand new horsehead beth gons are seen on NS 405 coal train passing through Staunton, IL as they are heading for Deer Run Mine in Hillsboro, IL on 04-30-2013.
6. Western Pacific heritage # 1983 leads a detoured NS 55T grain train from Kansas City, MO to ADM in Decatur, IL up the NS Brooklyn District on 04-30-2013. It is seen passing some Ex-Wabash search light signals and an elevator in Raymond.
7. A brand new rebuild NS SD60E # 6939 leads 260 roadrailer train Northbound for Decatur, IL on 04-30-2013.
8. Factory fresh painted NS C40-9 # 8805 leads train 301 from Decatur, IL to A.O. Smith in Saint Louis around a curve in Staunton on 04-29-2013.
