Here is the shot I got of the OCS Derby Train today.

I'm not sure what this location is called. It is a wooden one lane bridge over the tracks. This is just West of the Pope Lick Trestle and right next to I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway). There's a little gravel road that runs back there to it. The locals have been fairly anti-railfan friendly. They constantly have questioned me about being back there to watch trains. Some have even stated the road is a private road and I am trespassing.

I have asked a few Jeffersontown Police Officers and they have stated if there is a green street sign it is a public road and I can be there all I want. It has a green street sign. But of course one of the residents claims the wooden bridge is owned by the NS and you are not allowed back there. I guess either I'll keep watching trains from here on occasion and getting hassled by the locals or I'll end up getting handcuffed and tasered one day.

And of course as soon as the train rounds the bend a lady in her minivan comes along and rumbles over the bridge shaking me even worse then I already am in anticipation of messing up a shot of the f units. I probably looked like I was having a seizure.

Veechdale Kentucky.

Clouds came in right as the train went screaming by. Sunny before, sunny after, cloudy during. I also had a few minutes to clean all the trash out of the algae filled ditch.

They were going so fast I couldn't walk across the street and get in my car before the back of the train cleared the crossing.

Nice shots Ed. You guys in KY get all the fun.

Thanks. Yes Derby sure is a great time to be a railfan here. With the NS, CSX, Amtrak, and RJ Corman all running special passenger trains I'm not sure any other event in the U.S. gets treatment like that. The Corman train also brings in some BNSF and CN cars too.
