After wasting a few afternoons recently on the NS Louisville District and not seeing anything move today was the opposite. Before I could even get up, get dressed, and get out, I had heard 4 trains go by. I figured that would be all that came through in daylight and for once I was wrong.

Here's a few I caught today and I have been hearing train after train all evening since the sun has gone down. There had to have been a derail or broken rail or something to back up the traffic this bad.

#1 - Westbound Intermodal
#2 - Westbound Autorack

#3 - Empty gondola train
#4 - Autorack, NS 711 was the 3rd unit back.

Bonus - Pope Lick Trestle from Tuesday afternoon. Right before and after the train was golden sunlight. During the train crossing the trestle clouds..

Nice days work

Thanks. The trains were doing all the real work though. I was just sitting in a car waiting.

Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

I'll just dump some more photos from Saturday in this thread.

Westbound autorack with a SD60 leading
Westbound mixed freight with an ex-conrail 6251

These are about MP 285 on the LS. In a field across from the four seasons apartments at six mile lane.

UP unit leading a rail train as the light fades fast and the clouds move in.
Almost too dark and it's not even 5 o'clock yet. Eastbound rack train.
