I went over the Viaduct in Danville Tuesday evening and saw a 1 engine empty auto rack train with these Auto Racks on the train. See pics below. Are they the New Auto Racks of the future or prototypes?

These have been around for a while.  They are articuleted two car sets that allow two racks to be loaded at a time.  The autos can be driven through one car to the next.

Actually the way most loading facilities are set up, multiple auto racks can be loaded at the same time. The auto racks will have all the doors open with small ramps set up between each car.

The advantage of an articulated auto rack is getting more autos in 1 auto rack. It saves the shipper money as the railroad typically charges per railroad car.
