A couple of EMD's in Run 8

Got trackside today for the first time in several months and NS sent some winners my way! First up was P84 on the return leg to Linwood yard with a three-pack of SD60's and 109 cars. This train was at a dead stop about a mile away but was making a solid 25 mph up the grade at Hilltop Rd.

Next was 159, a usual bet for a pair of GE widecabs but NO, Roanoke stuck a high hood SD40-2 on the point today. What a great sight with this unit up front, Southern logo showing through the NS paint and all!

An Ex-SOU high hood on the point of a road train, not something often seen. Great catch. It is very odd that Roanoke puts anything on the point of a train other than GE widecabs and Lease junk.

I wanna use that scenery as a nice backdrop on the layout man I just cant say enough about these shots ?
