A few days ago, I posted "part 1" of the stuff Caleb and myself shot on the Louisville District this past Sunday 08/21/11, now here is the rest of the story.

As I had mentioned in my previous post, we HAD planned to spend the majority of the day shooting on the Louisville District, but it became clear it was going to be a rather slow morning on that line, so we followed 223 all the way to Danville.  That would prove to be a good decision, as the CNO&TP wound up being unusually busy (for a Sunday), and when it was all over , we had seen or photographed 17 trains total.

Here are the rest of my pics from that late morning - Afternoon between SJ Tower and Southfork.

High Res versions of the images seen here, can be found at this link, if you need a closer look  http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/nscs2eb11

NS 375 at North Wye, ready to hang a right turn and head West for Louisville

CP 8889 and a former SOO SD60 lead NS train 197 South, seen here just South of SJ tower

197 again, just South of Danville KY, under the big sky at Moreland

Northbound 144 rolls up the valley at Southfork, KY

Southbound 215 crosses the Green River Bridge at Southfork , KY

A top hat brings Northbound 224 under the classic signal bridge at Southfork.

And finally, a locust with REALLY good aim...its almost like it tried to fly into that tiny crack around the front plate holder on my explorer...that really looks like it must have hurt!

Appears the locust was a anti NS fan. Must have been a CSX fan. ;)

How many times have you (has anyone) seen a CP unit on a NS train on the CNO&TP? And I am not talking about those leaser SOO units either. Are they regular visitors? Sort of like the UP Z-line train that comes through the LS every so often?

Cp & CN power are fairly common. They are almost a given on the 61N sulfur train that runs a couple times a month, and also the ethanol trains that run several time a month. Those, and KCS are probably the most common non=NS power, besides the punkins and dirty birds, which are to numerous to even mention.
