After getting a bit bored with photographing CSX (they've nearly repainted all their old Conrail units and other schemes), I've been up to Norfolk Southern's Louisville District a few times to get a change of scenery.

T79 at Simpsonville(6/2/11)

A very short 239, also at Simpsonville (6/2/11)

25N taking the siding at Waddy(6/6/11)

I wish I didn't have to work last night, as it sounded very busy around Waddy. Work crews were busy working on the main crossing at Waddy, with 793, 25N in the siding. 61A also took the siding behind them, and four trains were coming east. I hope to make a few more trips up to the Louisville District in the near future, I'm still getting the hang of mileposts and train symbols.

It that simpsonville location just on the other side of the interstate?

Ed, all of your shots are great but that pic of T79 running hammerhead is just classic.  8)
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Just off exit 28 on I-64. Go north towards the Pilot gas station, turn there, you'll see a Subway in a shopping center, there's a small five car parking lot behind the building with a decent view of the line there.

Ooops!!! I owe Sim an apology... because I thought Ed took the pictures when that wasn't the case. Anyway, I'm sorry Sim. Your shots are great, especially T79.
