Today, because of the nature of my second piece of work, I was given a ride back to the bus garage by the supervisor. We passed by Gest Street right as the Ringling Brother's circus train was pulling out across the Ohio River bridge. I had been following this Circus Train's whereabouts both by using another RR forum and also phone contact with my friend sitting at Winton Place.  The supervisor dropped me off at my car and where I immediately took off for Kentucky. After a pitstop at the Richwood Rest Area on I-75 I proceeded toward one of my favorite spots on the Rathole, Bracht. What was fun is I got to honk at a couple of railfans already stationed at Adams.

1)  After parking and walking to the desired location I heard a horn, a Northbound.
2)  Before the Northbound got to me I could also hear the Circus train blowing.
3) Just a couple minutes shy of a perfect meet, but what can you do?
4) Circus Train with the US 25 and Ky SR 14 signs across the highway.

5) Circus Train wedged under the signal bridge. The signal bridge just says speed.

I followed the other two railfans out to I-75. Long time since I've driven in a chase procession, even if it was only two vehicles.

6) The railfanning vehicle turning 130 thousand miles. I think a considerable amount of that was railfan related.

I looked at my Kentucky map I got at the Rest Area. I couldn't go too far or I wouldn't make it back to Metro for the third piece of work for today. Since for some reason the new rechargeable double AA batteries didn't charge up in the venerable (old) PRO 31 last night I merely guessed at how far ahead of the train I might be on I-75. I left my compadres and exited at Corinith. After quickly ruling out the KY SR 330 overpass I turned around and found Depot Street. As I soon as I got there, POW here come the train.

7) Basically enough time park and hop out, with pleasing results.
8) I'll say goodbye to you Circus Train until next year, I guess.

My friend talked to the RBBB people loading the train last night and said the routing was supposed to be Cincinnati, Danville, Chattanoga, Ashville, Columbia South Carolina.

Thank You for looking

Jim

I did! About four years ago when the light came on. It was there.  ;D
