A few shots from the evening of March 30th on the 1st and 2nd Districts of the CNO&TP. We are coming down to the wire in our efforts to document the old GRS model "SC" signals on the NS here in KY and TN, and scenes like this will soon be replaced with more modern (and less pleasing to the eye) replacements.

The tree's are starting to show a few tiny buds of Spring, as the Southbound signals at Junction City KY show all red. In days past, the red signals on the Southern might have been to let a L&N coal train pound across the diamond here, where the LB branch crossed the busy CNO&TP, but there is no more Junction at Junction City.

"Diverging clear #2 to #1 at Junction City"  The North End Dispatcher has train 111 lined up to cross over to #1 track, in order to weave around a crewless Southbound sitting ahead at Bowen.

All Red at North Wye and SJ Tower. We are just North of the yard at Danville Ky, looking South on the CNO&TP. The signals closest to the camera is CP North Wye, where the Northern connection to the Louisville District curves off. The signals in the distance are at SJ Tower, where the Louisville District joins the mighty CNO&TP to go South.

Ribbons of Red. The red glow of the signals at North Wye and SJ Tower reflect off of the well polished rails.
