On September 16th, I was one of the many central Kentucky railfans who came out to shoot the Wabash heritage unit.  It was a nice way to get back into photography after a nearly four month hiatus.  I ended up getting several shots between Tucker and Bowen, and was tempted to go even farther south.  However, clouds put a stop to the ambitious endeavor.  Besides, the next place I probably would have been able to get 111 was Burnside.  I just wasn't feeling up to driving another 50 miles for one shot.  In any case, I'm very pleased with the results.

You can find the full, unabridged trip report in all its mediocre glory at http://www.cmherndon.com/?p=161

If you don't want to read any of my drivel, keep scrolling for photos (click on the thumbnails for the large version).

First trains of the day were 223 and 275 at Tucker.

I caught 111 at Pope Lick,

And again at Shelbyville.

At Waddy with the most unphotogenic milepost.

At McBrayer

At Talmage

At Danville

23G and 111 at Bowen

Thanks for looking!
