Last Sunday afternoon (September 16th), E.B. and myself left the house early and headed West to join some of the other folks on what would be an all day chase of NS 111 from Louisville to South of Danville.  NS 1070, the Wabash heritage engine, was the leader, and we where treated to some great weather and several good shots.

Below are 3 of my favorites from the trip. The rest of them can be found in my 2012 NS gallery over on Pbase. Just click the link to see my results.. http://www.pbase.com/kd4jsl/gallery/ns2012carm

111 starts around Turtle Tree Curve at Waddy, with a rather large crowd on hand to watch.

Later in the afternoon, The 1070 leads the train past the famous white fence at Vanarsdale.

111 passes the South end of the yard at Danville ky, as they head south on the CNO&TP to Burnside. This was the first time I had shot at this location, and I can see why Emmett saves it for special occasions after being out on that busy bridge.

Nice shots! I like #2 with the fence a lot. Dan
