Late this afternoon after getting home from a morning of shooting around High Bridge, I heard a NS 704 coming East on the Louisville District, with a UP 8960 leading. I quickly changed clothes, left Carm to her baking, and made a QUICK trip out to get him.

He was already going by the house went I went out the door, and I had to make a fast trip down to Vanarsdale to get him...and made it with about 30 seconds to spare! Well Worth the effort for a clean UP EMD in the evening light.

It was a beutiful day for rail fanning. They just did not cooperate here but you got a nice catch.

Here is another last minute decision I shot yesterday afternoon. We where on the way home from High Bridge and almost back to the house when I heard NS 285 on the radio, getting close. Even though I knew what he had for power, I went on down to the crossing instead of turning in the driveway, and snagged the attached image.

Yall have heard me talk before about how hilly and twisted the Louisville District is (they dont call it the gut line for nothing).. Here is the 285 about to top over the 1.5% pull out of the Salt River Flats, and around a 6 degree curve. Just behind me are another set of reverse curves just as tight....Our house is just off to the right of the crossing a bit.

EM: Is that the dash9 number you are having put on your 'NS' vehicle?  I bet your vehicle can turn tighter curves than the one you shot!
