It seems that during the past year, we have spent almost every weekend on the road in pursuit of Steam, the NS OCS and a ton of other good stuff, NS has cost us a lot of money for gas and hotels! Our last major outing for the year (that I know of) was the Three days we spent in Knoxville earlier this month, when we had TWO Southern steam locomotives and the OCS for entertainment.

NS, TVRM, and the G&O put on a great show for the Lexington Group and the public, running the OCS from Knoxville to Asheville, and SR 630 & 154 to Alcoa TN. We where on hand for the ferry moves and mainline trips, and had a blast! All of that plus being able to spend yet another few days with a group of great friends (and meeting a few new one's)  made it even more special.

We spent the entire day on Saturday the 12th chasing the OCS through the TN and NC mountains (Jacob, thanks again for being the navigator on that one!) and then a wonderful Sunday morning following the 154 to Alcoa, and the 630 back to Knoxville.

It took awhile for me to get all my pics worked up, but its done I have them online now. Check out this link for my results.

Nice photos as always. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you, E.M., and others, document these trains for those that can't make it that far and for the historical preservation in digital format of these trains.

Agreed. I can barely keep up with the action in my neck of the woods... so I love seeing what y'all from down South have been chasing.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.
