EB and myself we out this afternoon 04/17/11 for a bit to enjoy the sunshine and lack of rain, and caught a few trains in the process.  We started out with a couple of the ever faithful afternoon Eastbounds on the Louisville District, and made a quick trip over to the 1st district to get a shot or Two of the Brown coal train, which was making a seemingly rare daylight appearance.

NS 223 at Vanarsdale KY.

223 again, less than a mile further East, at West Talmage KY. They where following 285 into the siding, running on a restricted.

NS 285 at Convoy KY, after meeting the 289 at Talmage.

Eastbound 285 again, at Harrodsburg KY

After waiting for a bit after the shot of 285 above, we got 223 again at East Harrodsburg. They had been following 285 most of the way across, and I dont think we ever heard them call a clear signal.

While hanging out in Hogtown, we heard the KU coal train on the radio, and made a dash over to the 1st district in time to catch them shoving loads up the hill to the power plant at Brown, KY.
